The Techniques to Include in Your Oral Hygiene Routine

Posted .

Maintaining a strong, healthy, and beautiful smile can be a tough job, but it doesn’t have to be. If you have the proper techniques in your oral hygiene routine, your chompers will be deeply cleaned on a regular basis and you will have a higher chance of achieving your smile goals. To help you have the best oral hygiene routine possible, our Brookfield Family Dentistry, LLC team recommends doing the following things:

Brush: Brush your teeth for at least two minutes every morning and every night. As you do so, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Make sure you brush each quadrant of your smile for the same amount of time and you also brush your tongue once the cleaning job is completed.

Floss: Floss between each tooth at least once a day. You can use a flossing product of your choice to do so. Make sure you scrape the sides of each tooth so you can remove the plaque that lives there. Remember to be gentle along the gumline as you clean the crevices of your smile.

Rinse: Rinse your mouth daily with beneficial mouthwash, like antibacterial or fluoride mouthwash. Rinsing will help you complete the cleaning job and will help you nourish and strengthen your chompers. As you rinse, follow the instructions on the bottle.

Visit your dentist: Attend your dental cleanings and exams every six months. These appointments are extremely important if you want a successful oral health. The treatments provided at the checkups are the only treatments that will completely remove the plaque from your smile, which will result in decreasing your chances of having tooth decay and gum disease.
